CAD elements

When representing some object by hand sketching, the artist hold a pencil or crayon in their hand and tries to reproduce as good a representation of the object as possible. Some other artists, who have lost the use of their hands can produce stunning sketches by holding the pencil in their mouth or even between their toes.
But what they have in common is the ability to produce flowing curves of differing darkness and thichness by applying differing degrees of pressure to, and continually changing the direction of, the pencil.

The manually staffed technical design offices uses aids to draw the details that build up into technical drawings. The CAD equiped technical design office also uses aids to build up technical drawings.

The CAD program provides a similar range of draughting aids and has the ability to offer far more shapes and symbols. It also allows you to specify your own particular size for any of the elements or symbols included in a drawing.

Throughout the sessions in this section you will be provided with the basic information needed on the types of draughting aid offered by a CAD program.
